TWO people have died in a house fire Pembrokeshire in the early hours of this morning, Dyfed Powys Police has confirmed.
Emergency services were called to a report of a house fire in St Dogmaels, on the west Wales coast, where damage to the property was described as extensive. Dyfed Powys Police published an update a little under an hour ago saying two people had died in the fire.
“Emergency services were called to a report of a house fire in St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire, during the early hours of this morning,” said the force’s statement.
“The damage to the property was extensive, and sadly, we can confirm two people died at the scene
“It is not believed anyone else was at the property, however examinations are ongoing.
“An investigation is underway to find out the cause of the fire, with crime scene and fire service investigators likely to be at the house for several more hours.
“A number of neighbouring properties were evacuated, with those closest to the house remaining displaced until fire officers are certain it's safe to return.
“We'd like to thank members of the community and local businesses for the support they've offered throughout the incident.”
