A MAN facing three counts of raping a woman in Powys is to face trial after denying each offence.
Christopher Pugh, 46, appeared at Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, November 8, charged with six total offences. Three of these include raping a woman on three separate occasions between in 2020.
Magistrates sent Pugh’s case directly to the crown court as rape is an indictable only offence and can only be heard in the crown court.

Even though Pugh, of Conway Drive, Shrewsbury, entered no pleas this week, his solicitor Mike Davies said he would be entering “firm not guilty pleas” to the three rape charges.

Magistrates sent the case to Mold Crown Court, with Pugh due to appear there on December 6.
