HEIDI Davies has overcome some mountains in her life - both literal and metaphorically.
The former Llandrindod Wells High School student burst onto the scene as an international mountain runner when she was a teenager.
However she suffered much through injuries which impacted her career.
Now the English teacher has penned her first book which was inspired with the hope it would help athletes battling injuries.

'Steps and Stories' will be available to buy on Amazon from November 5 and the Italy based athlete is also hoping to return to her native Powys as part of a promotional tour before Christmas.
These days Davies is enjoying life as an English teacher in the mountains of Malonno.
Heidi Davies' debut book will be available from November 5.
"I'm still enjoying life in the mountains in Malonno and really feeling part of the community," she said.
"I've had some issues with RED-s (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport) over the past few years and haven't been able to compete properly but finally this summer I've been able to pin a number back on my vest and just enjoy being able to do so again.
"It's something I've written a lot about on my blog and on my Instagram page thepianorunner.blogspot and I'm currently in the process of writing my next book to tell my story and hopefully help raise awareness so that future generations of athletes don't have to go through the same things I did.
"Steps and Stories is something I wrote a few years ago when I was still in Mid Wales and suffering with my first stress fracture and so has quite a lot of links to the area.
