PUPILS at Ysgol Calon Cymru’s Builth Wells and Llandrindod Wells campuses have been celebrating their GCSE results, as the first results based on summer exams since 2019 have been published.

Headteacher Richard Jones praised students from both campuses for the challenges overcome, having studied during a pandemic, saying they had “done us and themselves proud”.

Among the school’s top performers were Eleri Davies (8 A*s and 5 As), Neve Davies (8A*s, 1 A and 2 Bs), Sophie Green (8A*s and 3 As), Lexie Megan-Rodgers (8A*s and 3 As), Oliver Smith (8A*s and 3 As), Erin Humphreys ( 6A*s and 5 As) and Ioan Greason Walker (6A8s, 1 A, 4Bs and a C).

“We are incredibly proud of the achievements of all of our pupils across Ysgol Calon Cymru,” said headteacher Dr Jones.

“They have done us and themselves proud despite the challenges they have faced over the last few years.

“This would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our staff and the support of our wider community. I'd like to wish all of our pupils the very best for their futures.”

Deputy head Lee Powell added: “I have been impressed with the attitude shown by our pupils leading up to the exams.

“They have done extremely well and should be proud of themselves. They have managed to achieve great results which will allow them to move onto the next stages of their education. I'd like to thank our parents for supporting the school over the last two years.”
