Welshpool’s The Old Station has quashed rumours that is is closing, with both its manager and Craig Williams MP stating that the business is not going anywhere.
Jane Millward, manager of The Old Station, said: “I would just like to say that we are not closing. Yes we are having a sale at the moment and we are not becoming a Wetherspoons. It’s business as usual here and the café is open too.
“Apparently there is yet another rumour going around town that we are closing soon but it is not true.
“In fact we now stock a wider range of goods than before Covid, so people can come down and have a look for themselves.”

Craig Williams MP echoed the statement, adding: “The team at the Old Station cafe are concerned at the growing number of people who think they’re closed or closing. This is not true.
“It’s a great stop off place and always a really warm welcome and, to repeat, is not closing.”
