A SHEEPDOG has been rescued from a mineshaft at Penybontfawr.
A fire crew from Llanfair Caereinion were called out to the trapped pooch on Sunday, August 6, just after noon.
The fire crew, along with a cave rescue team and North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR) saved the dog by pulling it out of the pit with a harness provided by NEWSAR.
Two members of NEWSAR are dog handlers with Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) and brought their expertise to the rescue.
