A 58-year-old man has been charged with the murder of popular cafe owner ‘Mr B’ in Halfway House earlier this week.

Belkar Singh, of Halfway House, appeared at Telford Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday, June 30).

Satnam Singh Blugher, 67, known by friends and customers as ‘Mr B’, was found dead in Tony’s Diner at 4.40pm on Monday.

A murder investigation was immediately launched and Singh was arrested on Tuesday.

Tributes have been paid to Mr Blugher and flowers have been left at Tony’s Diner, between Welshpool and Shrewsbury on the A458, which he had run for several years.

Singh indicated no plea to the charge and was remanded in custody to apppear at Stafford Crown Court on Monday, July 3.

West Mercia Police are still appealing for information from anyone who was in the cafe or nearby on Sunday or Monday to call 101 quoting incident 598s of June 26.
