Guils suffer decay in Sugarmen loss

Henshalls Shrop Div Four

GUILSFIELD and Llandrinio fell further off the pace in division four with a seven wicket defeat at home to Allscott IIs.

Gary West (43) was supported by Dave Lewis (25), Gary Lewis (21) and Andy Trow (13no) with Athar Ansari (4-16) starring for the Sugarmen in limiting the hosts to 153 to defend.

Tim Clare (66no) guided Allscott to glory in the 31st over in reply with support from Craig Scott (22) to deny the best efforts of West (2-31) and steer their side to 156-3 in the 31st over.

Llanidloes celebrated a thumping 142 run victory at home to Oswestry IIIs in division four of the Henshalls Shropshire League.

Gerrard Owen (61) revived Llanidloes’ innings after an early order collapse and was joined by James Denham (21) in a confidence building fifth wicket stand.

Dave Moody produced a season’s best 79no and was joined by Dan Lewis (34no) in guiding Llanidloes to a commanding 249-5 to defend with Connor Roberts (1-17) the pick of Oswestry’s attack.

Eogan Jones (2-13) celebrated two early wickets in reply before James Denham’s season best 4-17 tore through the middle order leaving James Bradbury (47no) and Oswestry all out for 107.
