NEWTOWN have continued their summer rebuild with two new signings.
The Robins have welcomed the arrival of 31 year old midfielder Jay Denny from Northern Premier League side Halesowen Town while 25 year old defender Leon Clowes arrives from Huws Gray Alliance side Airbus UK Broughton.
Clowes is re-united with winger James Murphy who landed at Latham Park from the Broughton club earlier this month.
The new arrivals join defender Sam Litchfield and the new forward pairing of Jamie Read and Nick Rushton as the Robins rebuild continues to gather momentum.
Clowes is a former Wrexham youngster with past experience in the Welsh Premier with Bangor City before being relegated with Airbus UK last season.
Meanwhile Denny is a former USA under 20s international who began his career with Stoke City and enjoyed spells at Hednesford Town and Solihull Moors before returning to Halesowen for a second spell last season having previously made a century of appearances for the club in an earlier stint.
Denny said: “I am excited about joining Newtown and challenging for a place in Europe. I am 100 per cent committed to the new challenge in Welsh football.”
Meanwhile manager Chris Hughes continues to invest his faith in the club’s under 19s squad with six teenage prospects training with the first team last weekend.
