A DRESS designer originally from the Meifod area has seen some of her work donned by members of the Royal Family.
Royal Ascot has proven to be a coup for now Shropshire based designer Claire Mischevani.
Ms Mischevani saw not one, but two members of the Royal Family choose her designs for their outfits for the event.
On the opening day of Royal Ascot 2017, June 20, Princess Beatrice wore a hand embellished Italian crepe midi dress in ivory, while Lady Gabriella Windsor opted for a bright yellow A-line coat, both by Ms Mischevani.
The designer has been operating a boutique in Shrewsbury for the past 16 years.
She said: “My Grandma, Margretta Caffrey, made clothes for the Beverley Sisters, she was the most amazing lady, I only wish that both of my amazing Grandmothers had been here to see this happen.
“17 years ago I gave up my law career and started by own business.
“It is all self taught and I have got a great team.
“I would like to thank my family, my husband and my children for putting up with me being so busy.
“Also the girls who have worked with me and helped the business over the years.”
Ms Mischevani studied and entered the law profession but has said it was her grandmother’s inspiration that saw her change career.
Claire confirmed that the dress worn by the Princess was a ‘fit and flare’ design with floral embellishments which are hand made and then hand stitched to the dress.
As well as bespoke outfits and bridal wear, Claire has this year launched her first ready-to-wear collection.
