THE 2017 Radnor Fringe Festival returns to Llandrindod Wells this weekend.

Organisers have announced the festival’s headliners and main events, performing and taking place in the Rock Park, Llandrindod Wells today, Friday, until Sunday.

The festival has three main performance areas; Under the Canopy, the Arlais Stage and the Theatre Dome.

The festival has film, dance workshops, art galleries, theatre, poetry and spoken word recitals. Radnorshire-based traders will be on-site, and, of course, there will be plenty of food and drink available.

Under the Canopy performances on Friday will begin at 6pm with Aithne and Olivia.

The evening will include local singer Felicity Bulbulia, End Credits, MPYT house band, Reece, Cartoon Violence and finally The Mighty Vipers will take to the stage at 10.20pm.

Saturday’s performances under the canopy will kick off at 3.15pm with the people’s rock band Bandrindod.

Highlights of Saturday will include Lucky Pierre, Nick Harper and ‘Mama Jerk and the Ladyfingers’.

Sunday evening will round off the weekend under the canopy with comedy entertainment starting at 7.30pm, compered by Phil Cooper.

Over on the Arlais Stage, the festival starts off with Hurricanes singer OJ Lewis in a solo performance at 6.30pm tonight, Friday.

??This will be followed by Paddy Steer then Cowtown will finish off Friday at the Arlais with some indie rock.?

Saturday performances on the Arlais Stage start at 2pm with Martin Nash and will run until late with a highlight being  violinist Mike Dennis.

For festival goers that want a go, the Arlais will start Sunday’s entertainment with an open mic session at 1pm.

?Other Sunday performances will include: Jim Somniac, Monday Night Side Project from Cardiff and finally Platform One, taking to the stage at 4pm.

The Theatre Dome will be less focused on music as it is a stage dedicated to the spoken word.

Events start on the Saturday at 11.30am including improv workshops and drama performances.

Mid Powys Youth Theatre will give a performance of their original drama, Brave, at 4.30pm and this will be followed by a wealth of poetic talents.

Sunday at the Theatre Dome will start at 11.45am  and features a variety of entertainment and performances.

These will include stand up comedy, swashbuckling puppets and book readings in the evening.
