Stunning displays in the air and on the ground drew crowds to Welshpool last Sunday for this year’s Bob Jones Memorial Air Show.

The unpredictable Welsh weather put a dampener on the start of the event, with attendance taking a hit and the first display cancelled.

Despite the shaky start, those who braved the weather had plenty to see and do on the ground at Welshpool airport while they waited for the remainder of the displays.

The transport festival provided a range of vehicles and machines from around the world to take a look at, with something for all the family.

Welshpool Town Clerk Robert Robinson said: “It was hit by the weather, we lost our parachute team and our Battle of Britain flights, which unfortunately was the beginning of the display.

“There was a bit of a gap, but the second half was extremely good. Everyone seemed to be enjoying it.

“The attendance was down but the organisation and everything went well, now we just have to look onwards to next year.”
