A LLANDRINDOD Wells based hotel has won Channel 4’s Four in a Bed, the third hotel from the area to do so.

The Hotel Commodore was on the popular reality TV show, with owners Andrea and Rohan Murdock appearing on the show daily from Monday, May 22 to Friday, May 26.

On the Monday broadcast, three hotel owners from Manchester, Essex and Norfolk stayed in the Commodore which they collectively deemed the best value for money in the competition.

On the Friday show it was revealed the Commodore was that week’s winner, chosen by the other three hotel and B&B owners in the competition.

Speaking after the win, Mrs Murdock said: “It was absolutely amazing, it was really good. We are now the third hotel from the area to win.

“We are doing something right here in Wales.

“We have had so many lovely emails come through. I am really pleased for the hotel and the others in the area who have won, it just puts Llandrindod on the map.”

Winning the weekly competition on the show is an accolade that many hotels in the country strive for, though there is a high concentration of winners in the Llandrindod area.

Other hotels from the area that have won Four in a Bed include the Park House at Crossgates and the Great Trewern in Llandegley.

“For winning, we were awarded with a plaque and that has gone up on display,” added Mrs Murdock

“It has been a really positive experience, we have really enjoyed it, it’s been wonderful.

“We have worked so hard on the hotel. We have done a lot of updates and renovations, my husband’s hard work has really paid off.

“We are over the moon. We celebrated on the day with some friends and customers, we had some champagne and it was really nice.”

Four in a Bed is on at 5pm weekdays.
