COBRA enjoyed unprecedented success at the Whitchurch mini rugby tournament.
The Meifod side completed a remarkable treble as its under 8s, 10s and 11s each prevailed to win their respective age groups with each ending the event unbeaten
The under 8s overcame opposition from Chester, Whitchurch, Mold, Rochdale and Oswestry on their way to winning the trophy.
Meanwhile the under 10s won all their group matches against Rochdale, Chester, Bridgnorth and Whitchurch and then beat Newcastle in the final.
The under 11s won their trophy with a series of strong performances with wins against teams from Bridgnorth, Whitchurch, Newport and Rochdale.
Proud club chairman James Watkin said: “The success we enjoyed in Whitchurch was a great achievement and just reward for the players, coaches and parents who have worked so hard throughout the season.
“We have a small pool of players compared to many clubs but punch well above our weight.
“I would urge any new players who want to try out rugby to come along to training in Meifod on Wednesday’s from 5-6pm and join in.”
