CARRIE Jones’ fledgling international career has received a boost with sponsorship from Newtown based Hanratty and Co Solictors.

The 13 year old Berriew junior is the youngest player to be selected to represent Wales under 15s in the Bob Docherty international tournament against England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and hosts, Shelbourne.

Coach Paul Inns, a partner at the legal firm, praised Jones for her dedication as an inspiration to other girls across the region.

Inns said: “Carrie’s commitment is second to none. She spend hours each week on the football pitch, but also hours in the car all across Wales for training and matches.

“The sponsorship that Hanratty & Co. are delighted to provide, will, to an extent, help offset some of the expenses she incurs whether on kit of for travelling.

“'I have had the pleasure of coaching Carrie at Newtown Development Centre and Berriew FC Juniors and it's no surprise she has achieved success on the international stage.

“She's a fantastic role model for all players and clearly has a bright future ahead of her.  I'd encourage any other local businesses to help support Carrie through sponsorship which would be greatly appreciated.”
