Rovers remain on course for double

WATERLOO Rovers remained on course for a silver laden end to the campaign with a 5-1 victory at Morda United in Honda Division One.

The Welshpool side are already in the final of the Tanners Town Cup  while victory at Weston Road boosted their title bid.

Scott Holley and Chris Hughes shared the limelight with both completing braces while Luke Evans also struck for the Welshpool side while the hosts replied through George Turner.

Llanfyllin Town regained pole position at the top of the table with a 3-1 win at Llanymynech.

Matthew Digwood and Matthew Evans struck for Llanfyllin whose tally was completed by an own goal while the hosts reduced the arrears through Jack Watkin.

Caersws Reserves stormed to a 7-1 home win over bottom of the table Llanrhaeadr Reserves who now look destined for the drop and could be relegated this weekend.

Jack Williams and Phil Jones starred with hat-tricks while Gareth Jones completed the rout with the visitors netting a consolation goal through Huw France.

Meanwhile Trewern ended Bishops Castle Town’s 100 per cent record with a 1-1 draw at the Manor Ground in Mitsubishi Division Two.

George Mellor struck for Castle with Joe Beddoes ensuring a point for the Tigers as both clubs maintained their push for league honours.

Maesyrhandir also got their promotion bid back on track with Jack Carroll inspiring a 5-1 win at Welshpool Town Reserves.

Carroll led the Purples spree with a hat-trick and was joined on the scoresheet by Harry Jones and Jack Jarman while the Lilywhites reduced the arrears through Ieuan Morgan-Thomas.

Elsewhere goals from Jack Weaver and Will Denham earned Abermule Reserves the spoils in a 2-0 derby at local rivals Kerry Reserves.
