Students hit back to stun Crosses

FOUR Crosses paid the price for a second-half capitulation as Aberystwyth University stormed back to complete a 3-2 victory.

Goals from Josh Biggs and Jake Edwards gave Crosses the interval lead but the Students  dominated the second-half with an Alistair Palmer   double and Henry Nicholson free-kick completing their comeback.

Elsewhere Churchstoke completed a 1-0 win at home to league leaders Kerry.

Max McLaughlin’s 15th minute strike proved crucial for the Marketmen while goalkeeper Nick Lewis ensured his side the points with a second-half penalty save to deny Kerry’s Luke Mumford.

Borth United closed the gap at the top with a thrilling comeback completing a 5-4 win at Builth Wells.

Dave Thomas led the Bulls with a four goal haul while Gethin Jarman also struck but it was all in vain as the resolute Magpies stayed in touch with goals from Liam Lewis, Liam Berner, Ryan Davies and Ben Jones before Jay Walker snatched Borth’s injury-time winner.

Newbridge’s promotion hopes all but ended in a 2-2 draw at home to Dyffryn Banw.

Goals from Lyndon Jones and Aled Jones were not enough for the hosts as Geraint Roberts struck fbefore a Tom Foulkes penalty earned Banw a point.

Meanwhile Nathan Prodger scored twice as Llansantffraid Village prevailed 2-0 winners at Presteigne.
