A MAN has been given a conditional discharge by magistrates after urinating in a public place.

Richard Daniel Bound, aged 37, of Llys Afallen, Newtown, pleaded guilty to the charge when he attended Welshpool Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Prosecuting, Helen Tench told the court that at 10.30pm on January 20 a police officer approached Bound in Stone Street, Newtown.

She said: “The officer, on patrol, saw Mr Bound against a wall with his hands in his groin area.

“When the officer asked him what he was doing, he replied ‘What does it look like I am doing’.”

Defending himself, Bound said he was very sorry for what he did.

Magistrates gave him a six month conditional discharge and he was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 surcharge.
