CAERSWS left it late before snatching victory fron the jaws of defeat at Porthmadog.
The Bluebirds threatened early on as ex-Porthmadog player Iwan Lewis was joined by Josh Hartrick in testing goalkeeper Richard Harvey before Luke Evans clipped the bar from 25 yards.
Caersws were dealt a blow when midfielder Jolyon Harries was the victim of a lunging tackle which ended his match and required six stitches to an ankle injury.
Phil Jones forced Harvey into action while Caersws stopper Luke Evans also produced a smart save to deny Sion Bradley in a rare opening for Porthmadog.
Caersws continued to dictate proceedings after the break but fell behind against the run of play on the hour when Phil Jones’ poor back pass fell for Cai Jones to nip in and slot past goalkeeper Luke Evans
The Bluebirds continued to press with new signing Rhydian Davies joined by Lewis in combining with the forward pairing of Hartrick and Sean Evans with chances continuing to go begging.
With time almost up ex-Aberystwyth Town youngster Davies drove forward from midfield to release Hartrick who finally made the pressure tell by firing beyond Harvey.
Caersws continued to press and deep into stoppage time Lewis released Sean Evans whose shot was parried by Harvey and blocked on the line by Iddon Price who brought down Evans who converted the resulting penalty.
