PENRHYNCOCH failed to prevent Prestatyn Town all but seal the Huws Gray Alliance title as their own relegation worries deepened in defeat.

The visitors dominated from the first whistle with Jordan Davies firing wide and Noah Edwards denied by the woodwork inside the first quarter.

Home goalkeeper Lee Jenkins came to his side’s rescue on 13 minutes with a fine save to deny Davies from the penalty spot following a foul on Jack Lewis.

Prestatyn continued to dominate with Davies spurning a handful of efforts while Jack Kenny and Reece Fairhurst failed to find the target with Jenkins producing another smart save to deny Mike Parker.

It was only a matter of time before the pressure told and Prestatyn led on the hour when Edwards and Davies combined to release Kenny to slot home.

Penrhyn had their best spell of the game and could have levelled only for a goalline block to deny Dafydd Carrruthers before Prestatyn sealed glory with 15 minutes remaining as substitute Ben Maher lashed home from 25 yards.

The result left Prestatyn a point away from the title and possible return to the Dafabet Welsh Premier while Penrhyn with six games to avod an immediate return to the Mid Wales League.

PENRHYNCOCH: Jenkins, L James, Mousley, S James, Gornall, Corbisiero, J Evans, Mansell, E Evans, Carruthers, Doherty. Subs: Lemon, Lewis, Horwood.
