Evans lights fire on Northcote bid

JOEL Evans maintained his prolific form with four goals as Brecon Northcote thrashed Builth Wells Reserves 6-1 to go top of the Watson Financial Mid Wales League (South).

Goals from Craig Evans and Bob Kear completed the Stags tally with the Bulls reducing the arrears with a consolation goal from Shane Claridge.

Presteigne Reserves prevailed 3-0 winners at Newcastle to maintain their own faint title challenge with Ioan Hughes, Ryan Stokes and Tom Lewis on target.

Talgarth Town took a break from their title bid to boost their double hopes with a 5-0 drubbing of Llandrindod Wells Reserves in the quarter-finals of the Pip Samuel Electrical Mid Wales League (South) Cup.

Jordan Harvey completed a brace and denied a hat-trick from the penalty spot while Harry Sharman, Ben Sharman and Connor O’Shea were also on target for the Royals.

Holders Rhayader Town Reserves also progressed to the semi-finals with Alan Samuel and Jordan McFadden goals completing a 2-0 victory at Llanidloes Town Reserves who ended with 10 men following the dismissal of Conrad Galloway
