North Wales Division One
COBRA handed first division title chasers Pwllheli a fright before letting an interval lead slip as the North Wales side hit back.
The Meifod hosts adapted to the conditions better in the first-half, forging ahead with a try from flanker Owain Morris, converted by outside half Rhodri Jones.
COBRA spurned chances to increase the lead with Jones missing two penalties but was not to be denied with a conversion after prop Bryn Edwards’ try early in the second-half.
Pwllheli were jolted into action and a blistering 15 minute spell saw them lead with a brace of tries from prop Alwyn Trenholme, converted by Osian Parry Jones.
The North Wales side were now in the ascendancy and increased their lead late on when outside half John Pugh raced onto his own kick to cross with Parry Jones converting.
A disappointing second-half for the hosts was completed when wing Gethin Vaughan Jones squeezed over for a last gasp try with Parry Jones’ adding the extras.
