A BLAZE consumed 2,000 straw bales at Old Hall Farm in Buttington on Saturday.
The fire service were called to the scene at 3.42am to find the fire covering an area of 200 metres by 50 metres.
Crews attended from Welshpool, Llandrindod Wells, Newtown, Llanfair Caereinion and Llanidloes, using a main jet, four hose reel jets and a mechanical digger to fight back the fire.
The A458, in close proximity to the blaze, was closed throughout the weekend while the Mid and West Wales fire service attended to the incident.
A weekend of hard work by multiple shifts of fire teams saw the fire dealt with by 10.55am on Sunday, September 25.
