LOVING tributes have been paid to a teenager described as being “delightful” after she was tragically killed in  a car crash last week.

Lydia Marie Lewis, 19, of Llandrindod Wells, was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash involving one vehicle on the A483 between Llanbister and Llanbadarn Fynydd at around 10pm on Wednesday, June 3.

Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the scene and the road was closed for several hours.

The cause of the crash is unknown and an inquest into her death was opened earlier this week.

A statement from the family said: “Lydia Marie Lewis, tragically taken away on June 3, 2015, aged only 19 years. 

“Beautiful daughter to Glyn and Julie, sister and soulmate to Heidi, true love to Shane. Will truly be missed by all.

“Funeral arrangements to be announced, enquiries to Pritchard and Sons, funeral directors on 01597 822121.”

This week flowers and tributes were left at the scene of the crash.

One tribute said: “With all my love Lydia, I love you so much, sleep my baby till we meet again, mummi bear.”

Lydia was a student at the Newtown Campus of the NPTC college studying childcare.

Campus manager Steve Cass said: “Lydia was an exemplary childcare student described by her tutors as delightful, hardworking, reliable and caring.

“She was well liked by her peers and her tutors and had a bright future ahead of her. 

“The college is greatly saddened by her sudden passing and our thoughts are with her family and friends at this very sad time.”
