A B&B in Crossgates has won the Channel 4 programme, Four in a Bed.

Ian and Joan Barr’s Park House bed and breakfast appeared on the show from April 6 to April 10.

“We were approached by Channel Four to appear in the programme, but we were reluctant at first as it meant that we were going to be criticised on everything during the show. But we decided to get involved in the end,” they said.

“The other competitors were from Scotland, Shropshire and Cornwall. It was full of interesting characters.

“It was nice to win it, but I would have been content with being runner up. It was a prestigious win for us and we were awarded with a brass plaque.

“The show had something like 40 to 50 million viewers worldwide and we have been inundated with congratulations and lovely emails since.

“After the show was aired we have had 43 bookings and we are now looking to potentially expand the business.”
