THIS year's Royal Welsh Show was the most successful ever, with a record 240,964 people walking through the Llanelwedd turnstiles between July 23 and 26.
 

Monday saw the second highest ever opening day attendance of 54,246 – up 5,513 on last year.

A record crowd of 65,807 arrived at the show on Tuesday when temperatures were 25 degree centigrade in the shade.
 

The final figure for Wednesday was 70,125, just around 500 short of the busiest-ever Wednesday two years ago when 70,613 attended.
 

And the mid-afternoon attendance figure for the final day was 50,786, bringing the total figure for the week to 240,964.
 

Honorary show treasurer David Powell said: “This is a four-day record for this event.”
 

The final figure achieved beat the previous record in 2006 of 240,140. Last year’s overall attendance figure was 227,513.
