Partygoer has jaw broken in late-night assault

POLICE are on the hunt for man following a “nasty attack” outside a social club in Ellesmere Port.

A 22-year-old man was rushed to hospital after he suffered a broken jaw and lost some of his teeth after an early hours assault.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened as the victim left a party at the Groves Sports and Social Club, Whitby Road, at around 1.15am on Sunday November 28.

Police say the victim got into a row with a man who then punched him twice in the face.

The victim fell to the ground and was kicked a number of times before the offender ran off leaving the victim with a broken jaw as a result of the attack. The offender was last seen in the Chester Road and Dunkirk Lane area of Ellesmere Port.

Detective Constable Kevin Cooper, from Ellesmere Port Neighbourhood Policing Unit, is urging witnesses to the attack to come forward with information.

He said: “This was a nasty attack and resulted in the victim losing some of his teeth. He was leaving a party at the time and I would urge anyone who witnessed the assault to call police so we can find the man responsible.”

The offender is described as white, 30 years old, 5ft 8in tall and of medium build with a bald or skin head. He was wearing blue denim jeans and a blue shirt.
