POLICE want to hear from a woman dog walker who may have witnessed a Prestatyn bank raid.

The woman was walking her dog along the town’s High Street as three masked raiders smashed their way into the offices of Santander.

The thieves entered Serv-u-Rite sandwich shop and smashed a 3ft hole to get to a cash machine in the Santander building on Friday.

Police will not say if cash was taken from Santander but money is understood to have been taken from the sandwich shop.

Serv-u-Rite owner Ann Marie said they were open as usual.

Police, who are examining CCTV footage, want to hear from anyone who has information regarding the incident or who may have been in Prestatyn town centre area overnight and seen anything suspicious to get in touch.

It is believed the woman walking her dog went into the Texaco garage shop on Marine Drive before walking up the High Street at about 12.40am and detectives say she may hold vital information. Police say all three raiders had their faces covered and were wearing dark clothing.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or 0845 6071001 (Welsh language line) 0845 6071002 (English language line) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
