Police have said they will not be taking action over a snapchat video filmed in a Welshpool graveyard which was condemned as "disrespectful".

Dyfed-Powys Police have stated that no criminal behaviour was identified in the online video – but said they would patrol the area to tackle "further anti-social behaviour".

It follows a report received by the force on April 12 over the video, which was posted on social media site Snapchat and which was taken at Maesgwastad Cemetery.

The video appeared to show a teenager smoking by a grave before leaving the cigarette on the headstone.

The video also reportedly featured “disrespectful” remarks towards the deceased person.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police received a report, on Tuesday evening, April 12 2022, of anti-social behaviour in Maesgwastod Cemetry, Welshpool.

“Enquiries were made into the incident which resulted in no criminal offences being identified.

“The person who reported the incident has been updated.

“The area will be patrolled by local officers to prevent further anti-social behaviour.”
