A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a female motorcyclist died in a road traffic collision in Powys last week.

Police said a 41-year-old male had been arrested and released under investigation pending further inquiries following the death of the woman, which occurred on Good Friday, April 15.

The crash occurred between a blue Mini Cooper and a white Triumph Daytona motorcycle on the A40 between Glangrwyney and Bwlch, near Brecon, at around 4.30pm, with police confirming the female motorcycle rider died at the scene.

“Dyfed Powys Police attended a two-vehicle road traffic collision which occurred just after 4.30pm on Friday, April 15, on the A40 between Glangrwyney and Bwlch,” said a force spokesperson.

“The two vehicles involved were a blue Mini Cooper and a white Triumph Daytona motorcycle.

Sadly, the female rider of the motorcycle died at the scene. Next of kin have been advised.

“A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released under investigation pending further police inquiries.”

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
