RHAYADER Town crashed to a 3-1 defeat at Trethomas Bluebirds in the Ardal South East League on Saturday.

Goals from Levi Rees and Gareth Tedstone gave the home side an early edge before the Kites reduced the arrears after the break through Jamie Evans.

However Rees added his second of the day late on as the home side sealed the spoils.

Barmouth United won 3-2 at Newcastle Emlyn in MMP-NL Mid Wales League West.

Goals from Joe Soar, Gwion Davies and Jon Sutherns clinched the spoils while Emlyn replied through Owain Thomas and Oliver Evans.

Elsewhere Borth United were 3-1 winners at home to Corris United in the Cambrian Tyres Aberystwyth League.

However the remainder of the mid Wales football programme was wiped out as storms battered the region throughout the weekend.

The entire fixture list in the JD Cymru North, Ardal North East League and MMP-NL Mid Wales League East were claimed as well as the JT Hughes Montgomeryshire League and Mid Wales League South.

Sunday’s women’s league fixtures were also called off.
