An air ambulance was sent to Newtown on Monday afternoon after a child suffered a medical emergency.
The patient received critical care from medics at the scene before being airlifted to Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool.
There were reports of an air ambulance circulating the town for around 10 minutes on Monday afternoon.
A spokeswoman for the Wales Air Ambulance confirmed that an air ambulance had been called out to an incident in Newtown.
She said: "I can confirm that Wales Air Ambulance attended an incident in Newtown on Monday afternoon (08/03/21).
"Our Welshpool-based crew were mobile at 13:56 and arrived at the scene at 14:13.
"Following critical care treatment from our medics, we airlifted the patient to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool.
"Our involvement concluded at 16:20"
The patient's condition is not currently known.
