Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly woman died following a road collision in Chirk Bank.

A white Peugeot Partner van collided with a blue Volkwagen Passat car at about 8.30pm on Sunday, September 9, outside the Bridge Inn pub.

An 86-year-old woman, who was a passenger in the Passat, has died in hospital after suffering serious injuries.

Her next of kin have been informed.

The driver of this vehicle, a 58-year-old man and two other passengers suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital.

The driver of the van, a 42-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.

 A 42-year-old man is assisting police with their investigation. 

Officers are keen to speak with anyone who saw the incident or who saw the vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven prior to the collision.
