A fire crew from Oswestry was called to rescue a puppy stuck on a ledge in Pant.
The crew attended a disused quarry just after 10.20am when they received reports of a puppy on a ledge there, approximately two to three metres below hardstanding.
Eddie, the two-year-old black terrier, lives around 100 yards away from the quarry in Pant. It is believed that he chased a cat out of the back garden and down towards the embankment, where he ended up on the quarry ledge.
The fire service used a short extension ladder and equipment to rescue the pup, who was then safely returned to his owner.
