A 39-YEAR-OLD man has been assaulted in a layby on the A470. 

The victim was parked in the layby in a white van when he was approached by two males from within a silver vehicle.

The males assaulted the victim before driving off in the direction of Glan Conwy.

The incident, two miles north of Llanrwst, took place on Monday September 24 about between 9.20am and 9.45am. 

North Wales Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. 

Detective inspector, Simon Kneale, of St Asaph CID said: “This was a particularly nasty and unprovoked attack which occurred on a busy road.

"The victim would have been easily seen from the road as he was wearing high visibility orange clothing.

“I would like to hear from anyone who was passing this area at the given time, and who may have witnessed an altercation.
