ASPIRING athletes have the chance to show their skills in a bid to earn a scholarship.

Girls aged from 11-16 are invited to attend Moreton Hall’s Sports Scholarship Assessment Day on Friday (September 28).

The annual event encourages competitors to demonstrate their sporting ability in the hope of securing future support to develop their skills in their chosen sporting field.

Alison McDonald, director of sport at Moreton Hall, said: “Athletes will be assessed not only on their current level of ability but also on their future potential and overall positive and focused sporting attitude.

"Our approach is to ensure we provide sport, fitness and well-being for all our students.”

Moreton Hall is renowned for its strong sporting success at a regional, national and international level offering a broad spectrum of physical education disciplines including; lacrosse, hockey, cricket, swimming and netball.

Moreton Hall’s sports coaches are experts in their field and are best placed to inspire and coach young developing athletes.

The school has been on the sporting map for a long time, nurturing students to excel in both individual and team sports and has supported many elite and talented athletes with scholarship awards
