POLICE believe the arson on a vehicle in Cymau was a targeted attack.

The Range Rover was set on fire during the early hours of Saturday morning outside the Ye Olde Talbot Inn and has been the second arson in less than a year.

Sgt Neil Hughes, of the South Flintshire policing team said: "On this occasion there was a risk it could have caught fire to the dwellings and could have been extremely serious.

"We are asking any witnesses who may have seen anyone around midnight to quarter past behaving in a mysterious manner.

"It is quite worrying because we don't think it is going to stop."

Earlier in the week the Leader reported how the owner of the vehicle said she feels victimised and has been subject to intimidation since buying the former pub.

The Leader:

Geraldine Evans, 61, planned to turn the property into her perfect home but plans were refused by the council.
