CONCERNS have been raised about the growing number of attacks on ATM machines.

Sgt Neil Hughes, of the South Flintshire policing team said the recent attack on an ATM in Caergwrle is just one of many throughout North Wales at the moment.

The attempted robbery occurred on September 12 about 3am and police are appealing for information from any witnesses that may have seen three males drive off in a grey BMW.

The Sgt added: "They were unsuccessful but caused considerable damage. We believe they used grinding machines.

"There is definitely an increase in this type of crime and we believe it to be organised gangs and they are professional at what they do. We are aware there is a considerable amount of planning involved and this has been flagged up as a growing concern."

Anyone with information can contact police on 101 with reference 18300094290.
