A girl in Llandrindod Wells has taken it upon herself to collect litter around the town to make where she lives a "cleaner place"; and she wants other kids to help out too.

Kacey Woodcock, 13, managed to collect six bags of rubbish around Trefonen and Aldi on Sunday, September 9, armed with a litter picker and hi-vis jacket.

Her proud mum, Kelly Gray, decided to post about it on social media. She said: "I want to say how proud I am of this young lady.

"My baby girl for going out off her own back around the Trefonen area and Aldi picking up litter.

"Well done Kacey, you've done an amazing job."

The post, which was posted on the Facebook group Llandrindod Solutions, got a huge reaction. Over 400 people have 'liked' or 'reacted' to the post, and over 60 people have left comments.

Kacey commented on the post herself to thank everyone who had shown their support. "Thank you all very much for the comments.

"I really do appreciate it, and thank you for all your support.

"I just want to make where I live a cleaner place," she said.

Kacey doesn't want to just litter pick alone, in the future she hopes to get more young people involved in cleaning up the town's litter-ridden streets.
