The 29th instalment of the Conwy Honey Fair has been labelled one of the best ever.

Organiser Peter McFadden said they had record stall numbers at this year's fair and visitors to the event had began flooding in from as early as 9am.

Mr McFadden said: "It was a very successful Honey Fair, one of the best.

"There were nearly 30 honey stalls, which was a record, and plenty of honey, thanks to the great summer.

"The stalls were busy from 9am, and Conwy was packed with visitors. Visitors always say how much they like the traffic-free High Street.

"While we also received good support and feedback from the town traders."

There was a lot of interest in becoming a bee keeper with a number of first timers making their way to the event to sell honey.

Students from Ysgol San Sior ran their own stall at the fair selling their honey and eggs.

Mr FcFadden said it was great to see the younger students at the fair selling their own produce.

He said: "Conwy Beekeepers are working to encourage more local schools to start beekeeping.

"We see them as the future of beekeeping."

It wasn't just honey on sale at the Honey Fair with a variety of stalls including a farmers market, plants and local crafts also featuring at the event on Thursday.

A collection was also taken on the day, in aid of Bees for Development, which helped raise £825.
