The Llandudno community has rallied behind a charity after it was vandalised.

Ty Hapus Community Resource Centre, located behind ASDA in Llandudno, had flower beds and planters vandalised and food littered across the site on the weekend of September 8 and 9.

The charity took to social media asking for assistance following the attack and they said they had been "swamped" with replies.

Work has now begun to restore the area to its original state.

A Ty Hapus spokesperson said: "We have had a donation of timber from Travis Perkins and Nigel Roberts who generously offered on our FB page to pay for a new sleeper.

"We have been swamped with offers of manual help as well.

"The guys from Veterans Hub spent the day here yesterday making it safe and tidy.

"We would just like to thank them and the community for the offers of help, it really means a lot to everyone involved."

The Veterans Hub Conwy CVSC had been the group to create and maintain the planters before the vandalism.

Ty Hapus, on Facebook, last week described the act as "mindless vandalism" and said they couldn't understand why anyone would do such a thing.
