CREATIVE MEDIA students from Coleg Menai made their mark at a prestigious red carpet awards ceremony held over the weekend.

A number of students from the Bangor campus had spent their summer filming alongside professionals from It's My Shout Productions - a company who specialise in producing short films for television.

At a swanky ceremony held in St David's Hall in Cardiff, students from the college had the chance to see their final pieces of work come to life.

Grace Thomas from Holyhead was crowned ‘Best Actress’ for her part in the English language film ‘See Me Live,’.

Meanwhile, Manon Naven from Llanfairpwll (unable to attend) won ‘Best Supporting Actress’ for her role in the Welsh language production ‘Paid Troi’n Ôl.’

‘See me Live’ aired on Monday, September 10 on BBC 2 Wales, and S4C will screen ‘Paid Troi’n Ôl’ at a future date.

Both films will be available to view on iPlayer, and will be shared via the Coleg Menai Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Paul Edwards, programme area manager, creative media at Coleg Menai said: "The partnership between the college, It’s My Shout and BBC Cymru Wales has been a resounding success.

"It is a superb example of how the motivation and determination of our students, coupled with support and direction from industry has generated excitement and creativity in our local area.

"Students from the shoot this year, both in front of and behind the camera, have already been targeted as the future talent, which is testament to their hard work and professionalism. We’re extremely proud of all of them.”
