ARE YOU a dance, yoga, pilates or tai chi teacher? Parkinson's UK Pembrokeshire needs someone to help offer gentle exercise classes on Wednesday mornings at Neyland's HOPE Centre.

Parkinson's UK Pembrokeshire offers various activities and therapies for its members, including a popular exercise session.

But a new provider is needed, someone with experience or training in providing sessions for people with limited mobility who may need to stay seated during the session.

Regular exercise has been shown to be very beneficial for people with Parkinson's as it improves strength, balance, posture and flexibility.

It can also help with sleep, tiredness, mood and mental health. Suitable activities include chair yoga or Pilates, tai-chi, stretching exercises, and dance but are not limited to these.

If you can help, email Chrissie McCracken at pembsparks@gmail.com

A free event, suitable for people living with Parkinson's or their loved ones will also take place on Thursday, November 8, from 10am to 4pm, at Haverfordwest Leisure Centre.

Taking Control Day will see nurses and other health professionals offering advice and information, taster sessions of exercise, relaxation and tai chi, complementary therapies, laughter therapy, dance, research talk, and information from agencies in the area offering help and support.

To book your place contact the Parkinson’s UK Wales office on 0344 225 3784 or wales@parkinsons.org.uk

If you have particular problems with transport, respite, or getting to the event before 5pm please let the call handler know.
