Views from Colwyn Bay's Porth Eirias have been voted the best in Wales.

Porth Eirias took out MyGlazing.com's third annual window with a view competition with thousands voting the surroundings out of the Colwyn Bay site the best in Wales.

The window will now go up against finalists from nine other regions across the country in a public vote to fight it out for the title of the UK’s Best Window with a View.

The winner of this year’s award will take the crown from last year's champion, the London Bridge.

The nine other regional winners are: Cley Windmill, Cley Next the Sea; The Bells, Leeds; Pitcher and Piano, Birmingham; London Wetland Centre, London; The Botanist, Newcastle; The Hopetoun Arms, Leadhills; City Tower, Manchester; Craft Camping, West Dorset; Boscombe Pier, South East.

The national winner will be decided via an online vote at MyGlazing.com/WWAV.

Voting is now open and will close on September 30. Every person who votes will be entered into a prize draw to win a camera. The national winner will be announced in October.

MyGlazing.com director of Marketing, James Lee, said: “We’d like to say a huge congratulations to Port Eirias for being voted Wales’ best Window with a View. It truly is a great feat given the standard of entries we received this year.

“It’s going to be an exciting couple of months, seeing which regional winner secures the title of the UK’s Best Window with a View. We wish Port Eirias the best of luck in the national vote and urge people in Wales to support them.”

Hundreds of images were entered into the competition, ranging from coastlines and landscapes to city skylines and industrial scenes.

A judging panel of experts from the architecture, photography, property and interior industries selected the three best images for each area of the UK, taking the window, view and overall photograph into consideration for the scoring process.
