THE Isle of Anglesey County Council says it is "proud" of the success of its young people following their recent GCSE results.

In a statement it said: "We would like to congratulate those pupils who have received their GCSE results."

The Portfolio Holder Councillor Meirion Jones said: “We are proud of the success of our young people.

"Thursday saw the result of years of hard work and it is time to celebrate their success. We would also like to thank the staff in our schools and thank the parents for their support which is essential to ensure success”.

Arwyn Williams, head of learning noted, “Huge congratulations to the pupils and I wish all the pupils of Anglesey every success as they move to a new period in their lives.”
