PROPOSALS have been put forward to turn a historic former chapel into a new home.

Capel Issa on Vicarage Road in Brymbo appears on Ordnance Survey maps dating as far back as 1898.

Now the two-storey property could be converted into a two-bedroom house as part of plans submitted to Wrexham Council.

In a planning statement, agents Bob Dewey Planning said efforts would be made to preserve original elements of the building.

They said: “The proposal is to convert a two storey stone building into a dwelling.

“The building appears to have significant local historical interest and further enquiries will be made to identify details of its history.

“This will enable any features of interest within the building to be retained if at all possible.

“The dwelling will bring the site into viable use creating a modest new dwelling.”

The floor plans show that if permission is granted there would be two bedrooms and a bathroom on the top floor, with a lounge, kitchen and dining room to the ground floor.
