The trial of a 35-year-old man accused of the murder of Welshpool man Charlie Birch and the attempted murder of Mr Birch's brother-in-law Will Pritchard was adjourned in Paphos this morning.
The unnamed man will now face trial on September 19, when he will be formally charged. He faces charges of premeditated murder, which carries a mandatory life sentence, and attempted murder.
According to Cypriot reporters, defence lawyer Savvas Matsas said a number of statements were not included in the pre-trial evidence, as well as the results of blood tests.
He said the defence were also waiting for the results of a breath test, copies of security camera footage, photos, and the defendant’s medical report.
The accused has been remanded in custody until the trial date.
