A man in his sixties was seriously assaulted in Kington on Tuesday night.
The victim sustained a puncture wound to his leg during the incident on High Street, which happened at about 11.55pm.
He was treated by paramedics at the scene and taken to hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
A 24-year-old man from Kington has been arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody at this time.
