One person remains missing more than 36 hours after a massive blaze at a hotel in Aberystwyth.

Nine adults and three children were evacuated from the Belgrave House Hotel after the fire broke out in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Five people were taken to hospital for treatment, but one person remains unaccounted for.

The Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed that the fire has now been fully extinguished.

The incident has now been handed over to Dyfed-Powys Police.

A statement at 12.30pm on Thursday from Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: "One person remains unaccounted for.

"The incident is under a joint fire investigation by the Fire Service and Police."
