Firefighters in Powys are looking for people to nominate them for a 'People's Choice Award' if they have gone "over and above the call of duty."

Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service (MWWFRS) will be holding its annual awards in November and a spokesperson said: "This year sees the introduction of a new award – ‘The People’s Choice Award’, which means we want to hear from you! Do you know a member of staff that has gone over and above the call of duty? Do you know someone who is a fantastic fundraiser, a great advocate for the service, or perhaps your local station shines within your community?

"The best bit of course, as the title suggests, is that you, the public get to choose the winner of this award. It can be a station, an individual or a team – it really is up to you!"

To vote email pressofficer@mawwfire.gov.uk ensuring that you highlight the name of your nominee, where they are based, along with the full reason that you are nominating them.

MAWWFRS will also accept nominations via social media: Twitter @mawwfire, Facebook @mawwfire and Instagram @mawwfire_rescue.

Nominations must be received by August 31.
